Sports Massage Therapist
Having trained as a classical ballet dancer and had a professional career in dance, Megan has a very good understanding of the way the body functions. She found that during her dance training and whilst performing, having regular massage treatment, reduced the risk of injury, improved range of movement and reduced muscle tension, allowing her to perform to her best ability.
Megan experienced just how important this therapy is for the body, she decided to further her knowledge by studying and gaining the highest qualification possible in the UK in this area.
The Cambridge School of Sports Massage
Megan studied at The Cambridge School of Sports Massage which is affiliated with the ISRM, qualifying with a BTEC level 5 diploma in Sports and Remedial Massage. Megan creates tailored treatment plans to fit each clients individual’s needs, rather than just performing a conventional massage routine. Everyone is different, so Megan feels it’s very important to use different techniques, in order for the client to gain the best possible outcome. This allows them to get more bang for their buck and allows for “an injury and pain-free lifestyle”.
There is nothing to worry about, Megan will always explain what and how she will treat you. She believes communication is key between the therapist and client. Our bodies are our temples, so by educating you along the way, this helps you to understand how your body works, which then enables you to get the most benefit out of your treatment.
Megan also believes that it’s important to create a calm environment, with relaxing music and lighting. When the mind can relax and switch off, the body does too!
